CAPDM is pleased to announce that Simona Zar will join CAPDM as the Senior Vice-President, Government Relations on January 9. In this new-for-CAPDM role, Simona will assume executive responsibility for federal and provincial government engagement, policy development, communications, and advocacy, focused to promote the industry’s value and vision: To ensure safe, secure, and timely access to high-quality healthcare products for all Canadians.

Simona brings deep experience in advocacy, policy development, and public relations gained through nearly 10 years in member-based non-profit associations, including Supply Chain Canada. Generating engagement among diverse members and stakeholders, Simona has led task forces and groups to respond to public consultations, publish position papers and reports, and enable advocacy with senior policy-makers. Prior to joining Supply Chain Canada, Simona supported research, education, and communications in community and health professional associations. Her most recent position was Director of Research & Policy with the national trade association, Restaurants Canada.

Simona holds a bachelor’s degree from Carleton University, a Masters of Public and International Affairs from York University, and she recently completed a certificate in Sustainability Leadership with the Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto.
I am confident that Simona’s drive for solutions and background in policy and communications will create new momentum in our quest for a vibrant, sustainable future for the pharmacy supply chain.

Please welcome Simona and feel free to reach out to her anytime simona@capdm.ca.
