John Targett - CAPDM Chairman, uniPHARM Wholesale Drugs Ltd.

John Targett, Director Purchasing & Distribution, is a skilled senior manager with expertise in Inventory Management Systems, Logistics, Purchasing and Business Intelligence. As a key member of the executive team with uniPHARM Wholesale Drugs, John oversees all areas of purchasing and distribution and is responsible for the operation of the member owned distribution center that ships products each day to independent pharmacies throughout BC, AB, and YT.

uniPHARM Wholesale Drugs Ltd. has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed companies and has been a Platinum member for the past 4 years.

Today, John is also actively involved in numerous strategic initiatives and has a broad range of experience in various areas of logistics, purchasing and operations.  He continues to serve on multiple CAPDM committees with other industry colleagues to improve the distribution of products to Canadians.

Matthew Frisch, Kohl & Frisch Limited

Matthew Frisch is Vice President of Corporate Development at Kohl & Frisch Limited, where he focuses on driving the company’s strategic planning and new business development initiatives. Matthew’s work at K&F spans multiple departments and regional markets, with the objective of delivering corporate growth balanced with prudent fiscal management.

Most recently, Matthew helped to lead K&F’s 2013 purchase of AmerisourceBergen Canada Corporation, during which he was an integral part of the acquisition team with a wide range of responsibilities ranging from financial planning and analysis to corporate communications and operational integration.

Originally from Toronto, Matthew pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania before completing a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Columbia University. Prior to joining K&F, Matthew worked in the structured finance department of Sumitomo Mitsui in New York City and as a Consultant to the World Bank in Washington DC.

Ron Frisch, Kohl & Frisch Limited

Kohl & Frisch Limited is an independent, family owned business established in 1916. Ron Frisch became its Chief Executive Officer in 1989. He also accepted the positions of President & Managing Director in 2001. Mr. Frisch is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BCom from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and a four-time appointed Chairman of the Board for CAPDM. Ron Frisch is active in the community and is involved in many charity and educational endeavours.

Kohl & Frisch Limited is the only Canadian-owned national full-line distributor.

David W. Johnston, CAPDM

David W. Johnston is President & CEO of the Canadian Association for Pharmacy Distribution Management (CAPDM). David works with the CAPDM Board of Directors to drive the strategic and tactical directions of the Association - tracking emerging issues, technology, as well as leading-edge strategies for member products and services. He is also an advocate for CAPDM on government and regulatory issues.

Prior to joining CAPDM, David served as Vice President, Community and Donor Programs, Marketing and Revenue with the Heart and Stroke Foundation from 1998 to 2006. He was responsible for national marketing, leading the brand messaging strategy to individual and corporate donors, as well as managing a large field team.

David spent the first fifteen years of his career in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of senior sales and marketing leadership roles with Nordic Labs, Marion Merrell Dow, and Hoechst Marion Roussel, Canada. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph.

Paula Keays, CPA, CA - McKesson Canada

Paula Keays was appointed to the position of President of McKesson Canada in 2016. In this capacity, Ms. Keays is responsible for leading McKesson Canada’s businesses which include the following divisions: Pharmaceutical Distribution Services, Retail Banner Services, Specialty Services and Technology Solutions.

Since joining McKesson Canada in 2000, she held various leadership positions. Ms. Keays was appointed as Senior Vice President, Pharmaceutical Distribution and Operations in 2014, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Six Sigma in 2012 and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2007. She also held financial positions at both CFCF Television and Lafarge Canada.

Ms. Keays is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University. She also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bishop’s University.

María Teresa López, Hoffmann-La Roche Limited

María Teresa López is Vice President, Finance and Business Services at Roche Canada. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the operations of Finance and Controlling, Information Management, and Logistics Management, in addition to implementing strategies to reach financial and business objectives. As a member of Canadian Leadership Team at Roche, she helps set the strategic direction for the organization. 

Since joining the Roche Group, María has worked in Roche Brazil, Roche headquarters in Basel, and most recently at Genentech in South San Francisco. She has held several positions including roles in Marketing, Informatics, Finance and Controlling - supporting internal clients from Research, Development, Strategic Marketing and Commercial.

Ms. Lopez holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Luc Martinovitch, McMahon Distributeur pharmaceutique inc.

Luc Martinovitch is Vice President and General Manager of McMahon Distributeur pharmaceutique inc., pharmaceutical division of Metro inc. and franchisor of the Brunet, Brunet Plus, Brunet Clinique, Brunet Target and Clini-Plus banners since May 2012.

Before joining the Metro team, Mr. Martinovitch served as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Government Affairs at Apotex, a Canadian pharmaceutical company, from 2007 to 2012. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries where he held numerous key executive positions in business development, strategic planning and marketing.

Luc Martinovitch is a member of the Board of Directors of The Palliative Home-Care Society of Greater Montreal and supports the Children’s Wish Foundation as well as the “Fondation les petits trésors”.

Dimitris Polygenis, McKesson Canada

Dimitris Polygenis is Senior Vice President, Pharmaceutical Distribution & Operations at McKesson Canada.
 

He joined McKesson Canada in 2004, after the acquisition of Phase 4 Health. This acquisition led to the creation of our Specialty group. Under the leadership of Dimitris Polygenis, the group expanded its services to become our fastest growing business offering a wide range of services to manufacturers. Mr. Polygenis was appointed to his current role in 2014.

Prior to joining McKesson Canada, Mr. Polygenis held a position with the Ontario Round Table on Appropriate Prescribing (ORTAP) at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences in Ontario (ICES). He is currently Lecturer and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and University of British Columbia Doctor of Pharmacy Programs and Board Chair of a not-for-profit educational institution.

Mr. Polygenis holds a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Toronto.

Michel Robidoux, Sandoz Canada

Michel Robidoux is President and General Manager for Sandoz Canada since 2010 and has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical-medical device industry.

He originally joined Sandoz Canada as Vice-President, Sales in 2008. Before joining Sandoz/Novartis, Mr. Robidoux occupied, for more than 10 years,  the position of Vice-President at Roche for different business units within the company such as Diabetes Care, Professional Diagnostics, Molecular Diagnostics and also Applied Science. Prior to Roche, he worked at Bayer for 7 years in various sales and marketing positions.

He is an active contributor to the industry as a member of the Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association and is on the Board of Governor for the Pierre Boucher Hospital Foundation.

Mr. Robidoux holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Université du Québec in Montréal.

Kevin Whibbs, Shoppers Drug Mart Inc.

Kevin Whibbs is Senior Vice President, Supply Chain and Logistics for Shoppers Drug Mart.

Prior to joining Shoppers, Kevin was with Loblaw Companies Limited as an Industrial Engineer and Senior Operator, progressing his responsibilities within the Supply Chain and Logistics Division.

In his current role, Kevin is responsible for the inventory managment, supply and distribution of Rx and front shop merchandise to more than 1,000 Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix and Shoppers Home Health Care stores across Canada.
