Angelique Berg, President & CEO

Angelique is a business development leader harnessing over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and not-for-profit health sectors.  Angelique brings expertise in revenue growth, government and stakeholder relations, and strategic communications at the executive level of leading health organizations, including the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation, Diabetes Canada, and most recently as the CEO at Hypertension Canada.
 

In addition to building high performing teams and creating award-winning programs, she has a proven track record in driving sustainable growth and innovation to inspire change. Angelique has served on multi-sector collaborations that accelerated health care system and patient care improvements, including the Wait Times Alliance, the Bone and Joint Decade Canada, Health Quality Ontario’s Hypertension Quality Standard Advisory Committee, and Health Canada’s Multi-Stakeholder Committee on Drug Shortages.

She also served on the board of the Best Medicines Coalition, and for over 10 years as a member of the Health Charities Coalition of Canada.”
 

Nancy Beshay, Senior Vice President, Member and Regulatory Affairs

Nancy Beshay is the Senior Vice-President, Member and Regulatory Affairs at CAPDM with executive responsibility for member relations, advisory committee oversight and related government relations, and the education curriculum, Nancy is an innovative and results-driven business development professional with 15 years of experience in the management consulting and health sectors in Canada and abroad.
 

Nancy obtained a bachelor’s degree from McGill University, a graduate degree from Georgetown University, and completed a fellowship with the MOREMI Initiative for Women’s Leadership.

Nancy has held strategic positions at leading international development and health organizations including Osteoporosis Canada, Hypertension Canada, Six Degrees Medical, Caritas Canada and the Aga Khan Foundation.

Passionate about achieving excellence and applying innovative approaches to address public health issues, Nancy leverages her experience and skills in designing successful programs, leading revenue generation strategies, and building multi-stakeholder partnerships. She played a leading role in developing the Canadian Blood Pressure Measurement Device Listing, and led the execution of successful medical education programs, investigator meetings, trial results meetings and conferences.

She is an accredited trainer with the European Foundation for Quality Management and a certified assessor by the Global Innovation Academy. She worked as a consultant/assessor with the Ministry of Cabinet affairs at the United Arab Emirates, the Executive Council of Dubai and the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi in governmental excellence programs.
 

Allison Chan, Manager, Member Services and Events

Allison Chan joined the Canadian Association for Pharmacy Distribution Management in November 1999. Prior to this, she graduated from Kensington College of Business, U.K. and worked for several years in a wholesaler/distributor company, specializing in project management and trade show organization. Allison is responsible for financial, events and membership management for CAPDM.

Janet Warda, Communications & Membership Associate

Janet Warda is Communications & Membership Associate at CAPDM. Janet previously worked as an administrative assistant for a computer software reseller. She also worked for a national shoe and accessory retailer as a merchandiser and sales representative. Her cumulative experience has allowed her to perfect her skills in customer service and organization.

Simona Zar, Senior Vice-President, Government Relations

Simona Zar is Senior Vice-President, Government Relations at CAPDM with executive responsibility for federal and provincial government engagement, policy development, communications, and advocacy, focused to promote the industry’s value and vision: To ensure safe, secure, and timely access to high-quality healthcare products for all Canadians.

Simona brings deep experience in advocacy, policy development, and public relations gained through nearly 10 years in member-based non-profit associations, including Supply Chain Canada. Generating engagement among diverse members and stakeholders, Simona has led task forces and groups to respond to public consultations, publish position papers and reports, and enable advocacy with senior policy-makers. Prior to joining Supply Chain Canada, Simona supported research, education, and communications in community and health professional associations. Her most recent position was Director of Research & Policy with the national trade association, Restaurants Canada.

Simona holds a bachelor’s degree from Carleton University, a Masters of Public and International Affairs from York University, and she recently completed a certificate in Sustainability Leadership with the Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto.
