Ken Weisbrod, Vice President, Cannabis and Business Development, Shoppers Drug Mart, will deliver insights into the evolution of medical cannabis including Shoppers' novel use of blockchain technology for the cannabis supply chain and its ongoing clinical research.

Ken is responsible for the cannabis Strategy at Shoppers Drug Mart., Canada’s largest pharmacy retailer. Ken launched Medical Cannabis by Shoppers, an online eCommerce platform licensed by Health Canada that sells medical cannabis to patients across the country. Medical Cannabis by Shoppers is the first pharmacy chain to enter into the cannabis industry in Canada and the first major retailer to enter the cannabis space in the world.
In this capacity, Ken oversees all aspects of the cannabis strategy including, marketing, medical outreach, operations, fulfillment, eCommerce, regulatory, and procurement.

Ken brings years of operational pharmacy experience both here in Canada and the US, having worked in both countries and has served as a consultant on supply chain for the narcotic industry in Canada. He is considered a workflow expert in pharmacy application and functionality and is recognized as a leader in the cannabis legalization journey.

Prior to joining Shoppers Drug Mart, Ken owned and operated a chain of pharmacies and is a licensed pharmacist in Canada and the US.
