Associate Service Provider Member: Phase Separation Solutions Inc. (PS2), a publicly-traded Canadian company, is a North American leader in providing environmental liability elimination and resource recovery using a proprietary, Canadian-developed, non-incineration thermal treatment system. Phase Separation Solutions is registered with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment as a recycling facility, making all hazardous materials directed to its facility exempt from the provincial levy. Associate Service Provider Member: Rx Canada is a pharmacy-sponsored organization committed to enhancing the role of pharmacists as key members of the healthcare team and to improving the care and outcomes of pharmacy patients. Its aims are: to help patients better understand and manage their health and medications; to enhance the role of pharmacists as key members of the health care team; and to foster stronger collaboration between pharmacists, physicians and patients. Rx Canada programs help patients better understand their medications and their benefits and how their medications should be taken. Programs provide valuable information on the safer use of prescription drugs and how complications can be reduced. They also provide opportunities for increased interaction between patients and their pharmacists.

June 2007:

McKesson Canada

McKesson Canada has been named in the Corporate Knights Magazine/Deloitte 2007 “50 Best Corporate Citizens” in Canada. Ranked #12 out of the 50, the rankings are determined from a range of baseline indicators related to its environmental initiatives, diversity, and various financial markers. McKesson was particularly noted in the Healthcare sector for embracing recycling – 84% of its waste is recycled – and energy efficient lighting programs, as well as for introducing a re-usable plastic tote program for its shipping. The listing was published in the Corporate Knights Magazine summer 2007 issue distributed nationally late-June in The Globe and Mail newspaper.


ALTANA Pharma Inc./Nycomed Canada Inc.

As of July 1, 2007, ALTANA Pharma Inc. will be changing its name to Nycomed Canada Inc. The change of name will have no effect on the terms and conditions of any pre-existing contract or confidentiality agreement with the organization. Earlier this year, ALTANA Pharma integrated with Nycomed, allowing for an increased market strength and enhanced product development and licensing capabilities. May 2007:

McKesson Canada

McKesson Canada has signed a 15-year distribution agreement with PharmaChoice Western Inc., one of Western Canada’s largest pharmacy retail networks. McKesson Canada and PharmaChoice Western signed the agreement on April 30, 2007 and the stores will be serviced by McKesson Canada effective July 29, 2007.

Under the agreement, McKesson Canada is responsible for the primary distribution of pharmaceutical products, over-the-counter medications and consumer products to the 126 PharmaChoice Western members who operate independently-owned and managed pharmacies.

“PharmaChoice Western members are excited about this new partnership with the industry leader which will allow them to take advantage of efficient, cost-effective distribution and logistics services,” said Walter Peterson, President, PharmaChoice Western Inc. “With this new arrangement, PharmaChoice pharmacists will be able to spend more time focusing on servicing the needs of their patients.”

AmerisourceBergen Canada

Richard Normandeau, President of AmerisourceBergen Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter D. Brennan as Director, Technology Solutions and Health Systems.

Prior to joining AmerisourceBergen, Peter served in Sales and Business Development on an International level with Mechron Power Systems. With more than 20 years of successful implementation of sales strategies to professionals such as corporate executives, university professors, nurses, pharmacists and physicians, Peter has a broad experience in management, merchandising and direct sales in the pharmacy automation, publishing, pharmaceutical, customized power and life insurance industries.

From 1997 to 2005, Peter joined McKesson APS and Microfil LLC in pharmacy automation solutions. He spent the prior 10 years with the Montreal-based Frank W. Horner Inc. at the position of Pharmaceutical Sales Representative to retail pharmacy, physicians and hospitals.

Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Biology from Carleton University, in 1986.

January 2007:

CPDN (Canadian Pharmaceutical Distribution Network)

The Canadian Pharmaceutical Distribution Network (CPDN) has announced the appointment of Darrell Skelly as President & CEO, effective January 9, 2007.

During his 30-year career in the health care industry, Mr. Skelly has held senior executive positions with companies including UPS Supply Chain Solutions Inc., Livingstone Healthcare, as well as Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Skelly brings to CPDN extensive experience in developing and leading strategic initiatives in technology-enabled supply chain management solutions for hospital groups, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.

Mr. Skelly is a member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario, the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science, the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists and has a professional logistician certification from the Canadian Professional Logistics Institute. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Management and Economics from Empire State College, New York, and is also a graduate of the Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology.



McKesson Canada

Mr. Paul C. Julian, Executive Vice-President, Group President, McKesson Corporation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Domenic Pilla, to the position of President of McKesson Canada.

Prior to his nomination, Mr. Pilla was McKesson Canada’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role, Mr. Pilla will lead McKesson’s overall Canadian operations, including McKesson Pharmaceutical, McKesson Logistics Solutions, McKesson Information Solutions, as well as its two pharmacy automation divisions.
